The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grameenphone, Mr. Michael Patrick Foley delivered a lecture ON SKILL REQUIREMENTS OF GRADUATE STUDENTS FOR TELECOMMUNICATION INDUSTRY with the Marketing and EEE students, faculty and management of AIUB . The telecommunication industry is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing industries that boost the economy of Bangladesh. The speaker is truly a person in authority when it comes to telecommunication industry for he has worked in various parts of the world before being assigned in Bangladesh. It was an opportune time for the students to learn from this learned and experienced person considering that the university is offering courses relative to telecommunication and business. Right from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, the students were oriented what exactly are the skills needed by the telecommunication industry so that Faculty can prepare the students to acquire these skills and able to respond to the industry’s requirements. These skills cover the following areas like social skills networking capital, technical adaptability needed by the industry’s growth and development, marketing ability to promote the transfer of these skills and others. It was a very interesting and informative discussion which motivated students to raise some questions out of their curiosity. Mr. Foley was also ushered by the organizers to view the library and the other facilities of the university. He was delighted and impressed of the modern library. The seminar was an initiative of the Marketing Department of the Faculty of Business Administration.
