of Placement & Alumni (OPA) at American International
University-Bangladesh (AIUB) supports the development of financially and
socially sustainable businesses in the local community through various
initiatives. Alumni networking facilitated by the OPA connects students with
graduates, encouraging mentorship and career advice that can foster
entrepreneurial growth. Career development workshops provide students with
essential skills, including resume building, interview techniques, and
professional networking, which are valuable for both traditional employment
and entrepreneurship. Job fairs and networking events organized by the
office connect students and alumni with industry professionals, creating
opportunities for meaningful partnerships that can benefit community-based
business efforts. Additionally, AIUB's Career Counseling Services offer
personalized guidance, helping students identify skills and set career
goals, which can be instrumental for those aspiring to start sustainable
local businesses. The Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation (D2A2I) at
AIUB further contributes to community empowerment by funding projects like
the Amateur Experimental Rocketry Dhaka, aligning with AIUB’s mission to
promote research and innovation that positively impact the local community.
Through these efforts, AIUB actively supports community-oriented

Empowering Future Entrepreneurs: AIUB’s Smart Bangladesh Business Plan Exhibition
AIUB’s Smart Bangladesh Business Plan Exhibition, held on April 10, 2023,
showcased innovative business ideas developed by final-year students in the
Entrepreneurship Development course. This exhibition allowed students to
present their business concepts to faculty for feedback on practical
implementation. Through posters and models, students proposed socially
responsible and sustainable business ideas, enhancing their analytical
skills and entrepreneurial mindset. The event promotes local startup
assistance by encouraging entrepreneurship, which is essential in reducing
poverty and advancing SDG1 through job creation and sustainable business
practices.

and digitization for aspiring entrepreneurs. AIUB alumna Ms. Nasrina Bari,
CEO of Be Global, shared her journey, offering insights into building
sustainable businesses and addressing challenges such as cash flow, time
management, and self-confidence. Emphasizing digital skills, the seminar
highlighted how entrepreneurship can drive economic resilience and poverty
reduction, directly aligning with SDG1. This initiative supports local
startup growth by preparing students with essential skills for creating
