AIUB SDG Activity Report 2022 | SDG 1: No Poverty

American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is a proactive champion for Sustainable Development Goal 1: No Poverty, channeling its commitment through diverse initiatives and impactful research. Beyond academic excellence, AIUB is actively engaged in fostering economic empowerment, exemplified by the Certification Program on Women Entrepreneurship and the FBA Business Plan Exhibition. These initiatives aim to break the cycle of poverty by empowering women and nurturing entrepreneurial spirit, essential for creating economic opportunities.

AIUB extends its impact beyond traditional academia with events like the "Webinar on Computer Science Career- What is Next?" and student visits to the Resettlement area of Kumarabhog, Mawa, fostering practical skills and socially responsible citizenship. The AIUB Social Welfare Club, "Shomoy," plays a pivotal role in community engagement, evident in initiatives like "Standing with the Flood-Affected 2022," showcasing a holistic approach to poverty alleviation through direct community support during natural disasters.

On the faculty front, AIUB's research, such as "Economic Power Dispatch Solutions" and "COVID-19 and Sustainable Development Goals: Bangladesh Perspective," demonstrates a commitment to innovative solutions for sustainable economic development. Research on the "Impact of monthly repayment system on the household income and food expenditure of rural women borrowers" contributes valuable insights for policies improving the economic conditions of rural communities. In conclusion, AIUB's comprehensive approach, combining academic prowess, community engagement, and cutting-edge research, solidifies its dedication to SDG 1 and the global pursuit of eradicating poverty.
