Core Sustainability Team: Sustainable Development Advancement Committee

The main or core sustainability team at AIUB is the Sustainable Development Advancement Committee, comprising senior leadership and institutional representatives, ensuring strategic oversight and quality assurance in sustainability initiatives. The composition is as follows:

  • Vice Chancellor
  • Pro Vice Chancellor
  • Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Team

Advisors:

  • Prof. Dr. Md. Faruque Hossain – Representative from Faculty of Business Administration
  • Prof. Dr. S. Mosaddeq Ahmed – Representative from Faculty of Science and Technology

  • Representative from Faculty of Engineering

This core team plays a pivotal role in planning, guiding, and evaluating sustainability efforts across AIUB’s academic and operational spectrum.

In addition to the core team, AIUB has established a dedicated team of researchers and faculty under CSER to carry out the operational and research-driven aspects of sustainable development. CSER is led by Prof. Dr. Nowshad Amin, serving as the Deputy Director, and is supported by a team of experts specializing in various aspects of sustainable energy.

This broader team actively engages in driving the university's research-based sustainability initiatives and serves as the operational backbone for implementing innovative practices and projects.

 

Research Focus and Objectives

The center’s primary research areas include:

  • Renewable Energy Systems
  • Micro-grid and Hybrid Power Systems
  • Energy Storage Solutions
  • Application of Power Electronics

By concentrating on these domains, CSER aims to produce innovative, practical solutions that contribute significantly to the global and institutional goals of sustainable development.
