The students of “Biomedical Instrumentation, Measurement and Design” of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department undertook a study tour to Addin Medical College Hospital, Dhaka on 10th November, 2012. This tour was arranged by the course teacher Ms Tonima Sumya Ali to familiarize the student with medical instruments and their operations. Students closely observed the medical instruments of ICU unit and analyzed the imaging instruments, parameters, and outcomes of X-Ray and CT scan units. Additionally, the students performed experiments to capture ECG and Ultrasound images under the guidance of the chief Biomedical Engineer, Bappa Majumdar. The managing Director, Dr. Tariqul Islam briefed the students on the operation of the Hospital and the future potentials of Biomedical Engineering. The tour was very motivational and a valuable learning experience for the students. It was arranged for the first time and it has proven to be a vital component for the course.

The department would also like to thank Dr. A. N. Neaz Ahmed, Dr. Sabur, and the management of the University for providing full support and co-operation for the study tour. The study tour was conducted under the guidance of Ms Tonima Sumya Ali and Mr. Nahidul Karim of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
