International Symposium on Nanotechnology, 2022 (ISN2022)

International Symposium on Nanotechnology highlights the ways of students, faculty, and partners add global dimensions to their teaching, learning and research on nanotechnology. Bringing together a panel of speakers from industry and academia to discuss on nanotechnology create the opportunity to exchange their latest innovation, findings, and builds collaboration and get useful comments on their work. This kind of gathering can benefit the research activities in industry and academia, and finally contribute for the nation and mankind. Having this background, Centre for Nanotechnology Research (CNR), AIUB has started its journey on March 12, 2020 with International Symposium on Nanotechnology (ISN) with the kind support of AIUB Management and Faculty of Engineering. The symposium was successful, participatory, and congratulated by nano scientists at home and abroad. In continuation to 1st symposium, our 2nd International Symposium on Nanotechnology is going to happen on Jan 24, 2022 with more enthusiasm by participation of prominent nano scientists from industry and academia at home and abroad. The theme of ISN2022, “Nano for SDGs” emphasizes on the nanotechnology based research and development to fulfil the goals of sustainable development (SDGs) and contribute to the national economy by linking up industries with academia.

CENTER FOR NANOTECHNOLOGY RESEARCH (CNR), AIUB

Center for Nanotechnology Research (CNR) is the specialized research center involving multidisciplinary sciences and technologies at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The center was established in March, 2020 with the aim of conducting research in the area of nanotechnology to solve the national problems using local resources targeting to contribute in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Currently, CNR is conducting research on advanced nanomaterials and smart devices. It has been established to achieve high level of scientific knowledge and to produce potential manpower. This center is directly patronized by the AIUB management. A group of researchers consisting of faculties and students from diverse field of expertise and interests in nanotechnology from AIUB and other institutions from home and abroad are involved with this center.

The center has opened opportunities for the interested students to conduct research on nanotechnology to fulfill their prerequisite for obtaining degrees. CNR regularly arranges seminar, webinars and symposium on nanotechnology, and collaborates with companies and scientists from AIUB and other local and foreign organizations. The first International Symposium on Nanotechnology (ISN2020) held in March 12, 2020 was its first attempt to organize an international scientific get-together to share the latest knowledge about nanotechnology. The center communicates with various national and international private-government agencies to collect fund for research and related collaborations. The ongoing research project on Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) is funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. CNR signs MoU with foreign universities and research centers to exchange their research experience.

CNR possess some commonly used apparatus at its early stage. Major characterization processes are carried out in collaboration with other institutes at home and abroad. CNR has built a comfortable connection with national and international scientist. There are scopes in CNR to work together with other scientists, both national and international of similar interests.
