Letter from Vice Chancellor: Spring 2021-22 On-Campus Classes
Dear students,
Greetings from the Office of the Vice Chancellor!
I highly appreciate the resilience and patience of AIUB students during this unprecedented critical time of COVID-19 pandemic. It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that finally we will be back to our beloved campus soon. Recently, the Ministry of Education has also announced similar indication.
It has been challenging for all of us over the past 2 years, facing the uncertainty and going through the anxious time that have changed how we live, work, and study. I am proud of every single AIUBian who have been strong and focused during this turmoil. Because of you, we can uphold the spirit of AIUB and were able to keep the Academic Calendar unhampered.
As anticipated in my previous letter, we are going to open the campus for students. I know many of you will be coming to the campus for the very first time. We are eagerly waiting to welcome you. As per the decision of AIUB Syndicate, to make this transition seamless, opening of the campus for on-campus classes will be as per following in the first week of opening:
- Laboratory Classes ONLY for UNDERGRADUATE Students will be conducted on-campus from Sunday, February 27, 2022.
- Theory classes will continue to be held online in the first week of opening (Feb 27 – March 3, 2022).
- If a student has back-to-back theory and laboratory class, they can join the theory class in-person in the classroom in the campus.
- Only review of topics will be held in that first week of opening (Feb 27 – March 3, 2022).
- Undergraduate Midterm exams will be held in campus from March 5, 2022 (Specific schedule will be published later).
- Masters’ program classes will continue to be held in the online platform.
The health and safety of all our students, faculties, officials, and their families are our topmost priority. We will be returning to the campus with necessary measures and preparations, maintaining all the health and safety protocols. Students, faculties and officials must strictly follow the safety and security measures at all times. It will be monitored with the maximum scrutiny.
Meanwhile, I also encourage all our students to register for their vaccine dosage as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We are constantly pursuing the University Grants Commission (UGC) to the best of our abilities on a regular basis, to facilitate the student vaccination process as quickly as possible and are hopeful that the procedure will be expedited.
Thank you once again for your understanding, cooperation, and patience. Take care and stay safe! See you in the campus soon!
With best wishes,
Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna
