On Sunday, October 1st, 2023, the Faculty of Business Administration at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted a seminar titled 'A Journey towards Smart Bangladesh,' which is an initiative of the Bangladesh Government. This seminar took place in the AIUB auditorium and was organized as part of the 'Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series,' dedicated to the memory of AIUB's Founder Chairman, Dr. Anwarul Abedin, whose contributions have catalyzed significant advancements in the country's educational sector.

The event featured Mr. Md. Tazul Islam, MP, Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, as the chief guest. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member of the Board of Trustees at AIUB, delivered the welcome speech. Honorable Minister Mr. Md. Tazul Islam, MP, discussed the Bangladesh Government's initiatives for Smart Bangladesh. Following the Honorable Minister's presentation, a round-table discussion was organized, bringing together notable figures including Dr. Ferhat Anwar, Former Director of IBA at Dhaka University and Advisor at Banglalink; Mr. Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer (CCRAO) at Banglalink; Mr. Afran Ali, Chairperson at Zaytoon Business Consultant and Onkur Digital Limited; Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor at AIUB; and Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi, Associate Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, AIUB.

Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna presented a token of appreciation to Honorable Minister Mr. Md. Tazul Islam, MP. The seminar was attended by faculty members, officers, and students of AIUB.
