A seminar on "Career Planning and Opportunities for Accounting and Finance graduates" was jointly organized by the University’s Office of Placement and Alumni and the Department of Finance, Faculty of Business Administration. It was held on October 18, 2023, in the Media Studio.

The objective was to provide prospective Accounting and Finance graduates with an understanding of how to begin, plan, and prepare for their careers. The seminar focused on strategies for preparing for this competitive market and distinguishing oneself in it.

The speaker at the event was Mr. Tanzim Alamgir, Managing Director and CEO, UCB Investment limited a subsidiary of UCB Bank Ltd. Mr. Tanzim Alamgir is an alumnus of AIUB.

Ms. Bohi Shajahan, Head of the Department of Finance and Mr. R. Tareque Moudud FCMA, Director OPA jointly conducted the session.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Tanzim Alamgir, started his presentation by discussing his professional trajectory and emphasizing key considerations for all aspiring job seekers. He discussed what enabled him to attain the current position he holds and the significance of networking. He also provided the audience with advice on interview preparation and crafting persuasive resumes. He also addressed several of the most frequent errors that occur during this procedure and provided advice on how to avoid them. He then went on to discuss career prospects of Accounting and Finance graduates and the various options available to them. He ended by giving some important career tips to the students.

Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director of the MBA Program, concluded the session with a vote of thanks to the speaker and highlighted the importance of such sessions. He also presented the speaker with a Certificate of Appreciation. A token of appreciation was handed over to the speaker by Mr. R. Tareque Moudud FCMA , Director OPA.
