“PRACTICING BUSINESS”: A SIMULATION ORGANIZED FOR STUDENTS OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

The Department of Marketing, & THM, Faculty of Business Administration organized an event entitled, “Practicing Business” for the students of the BBA core course “International Business‟. The event was held on the 30th of July 2023, on the university premises, to provide an opportunity for the students to acquire knowledge and skills for promoting and selling local products in hypothetical international marketplaces. Fifteen (15) teams from different sections of the International Business course proactively participated in the program. Each team brought various unique items from different districts to create a competitive environment, putting into practice the theoretical concepts they learnt in class.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of AIUB. Dr. Rezbin Nahar, an Associate Professor & Director of the Undergraduate Program in the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, Head, Department of Marketing, THM, & IB, FBA, Heads of other departments of FBA, and faculty members of marketing were also present during the inauguration. They visited all the stalls and shared their valuable feedback on the ideas and presentation of each of the teams. Respected faculty members and administrative officials, as well as numerous students participated in the event, encouraging the teams in their endeavors. Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Farheen Hassan, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business Administration also attended the event and motivated the participants a lot.

Mr. AKM Kamrul Haque, Sr. Assistant Professor & Event Coordinator, along with Dr. Sahin Akter Sarker, Associate Professor & Course Coordinator; Dr. Yesmin Sultana, Associate Professor; and Mr. Hamidul Islam of the Department of Marketing in the Faculty of Business Administration, organized this event in consultation with Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, Head, Department of Marketing, & THM, FBA. The event created an innovative opportunity for students to implement their ideas and actualize them as the future business leaders of tomorrow, making the program a great success. Administrative stuffs of AIUB, extended their immaculate support for making the event a success.
