Dear Freshmen Applicants,

Welcome to AIUB! Thank you for choosing AIUB as the home for your cognitive learning and achieving one of the significant milestones of your educational journey. Our students are our pride and most valuable assets. The whole world is currently going through an unprecedented time of anxiety. The well-being of our students has always been and will always be our highest priority. Your uninterrupted studies and on time graduation are always our topmost priority. Even though, this past November 2021, we had anticipated and hoped for a better situation and thought we could come back to campus for face-to-face classes, but the new variant of COVID-19 – Omicron, has become a growing concern around the world, and is increasingly worrying for us in Bangladesh as well. Even though 100% of AIUB Employees (Faculty member, Official and Support Staff) are fully vaccinated, but already around 12% of them are currently infected by COVID-19. Moreover, unfortunately, so far only about 57% of our student body has been able to get fully vaccinated, leaving a majority of students still awaiting their dosage.

So, we are going to start Spring 2021-22 semester with online classes. We are hoping that the situation will improve by mid or end of February, and it will be in-favor of on-campus face-to-face classes. We will be returning to campus by then with necessary measures and preparations, maintaining all the health and safety protocols.

Considering the current overall pandemic condition, the AIUB management has decided to reduce the tuition fee for Spring 2021-22 semester and offer flexible installment payment options. Following is the detail of Spring 2021-22 semester registration.  We thank you for your trust and understanding.

Dates of Spring 2021-22 semester:

Classes Start:

Sunday, January 23, 2022 (For existing regular Students and newly enrolled Masters’ Program Freshman Classes) – as per weekly class routine

Sunday, January 30, 2022 (For newly enrolled Undergraduate Freshman Classes) – as per weekly class routine

Classes will start online through Microsoft Teams (Guideline for enrolled freshman students on how to use Microsoft Teams is posted in a separate notice.)

Waivers (For Freshman Students of Spring 2021-22):

• 5% WAIVER ON REGULAR TUITION AND LAB FEE PER CREDIT HOUR

*Regular Tuition Fees per credit hour will be applicable from SUMMER 2021-22 semester onwards

Installments Payment Option (For Freshman Students of SPRING 2021-22):

1^st installment (One third of the payable amount): Upon admission and registration

2^nd installment (One third of the payable amount): By 6^th week of SPRING 2021-22

3^rd installment (Remaining one third of the payable amount and all other dues): By 12^th week of SPRING 2021-22

Please note (For Freshman Students of SPRING 2021-22):

• Reduced Tuition Fees of BDT 5,225.00 (5% waiver on regular tuition fee of BDT 5,500.00) per credit hour is ONLY for SPRING 2021-22 semester in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
• Regular Tuition Fees BDT 5,500.00 per credit hour will be applicable from SUMMER 2021-22 semester onwards.
• Students who have already enrolled for SPRING 2021-22 semester and paid the regular tuition fees; the waived amount will be adjusted in their account.
• All other fees are non-refundable except tuition fee as per university policy.
• All tuition fees and other fees are subject to change without prior notice.
