About
The AIUB Library was started in 1994 in order to cater to the academic and research needs of the faculty, research scholars, students, and officers. Over the years, the Library has grown steadily and expanded its services and holdings by leaps and bounds to live-up to the expectations of its immediate patrons. The book stock is arranged in a classified sequence based on the Dewey Decimal System (DDC), and the great majority of volumes in the Library are on open shelves, available for borrowing.
The library of AIUB is the collection of the knowledge and built up a balanced and rich collection in Business Administration, Science and Technology, Computer and Social Science. It is an open library system to students of AIUB, which provides rich collection of books including journals, newsletter, thesis works and CDs. Students ID cards stand as library card. Students can borrow any books and CDs from the library for 7 days except the textbook. At present the library has more than 43,318 books, 1,72,000 e-books, 68,000 e-journals and a student sitting capacity of more than 350. - Write a policy for acquisitions and weeding.
- Provide secure systems for user’s access to prevent loss or damage.
- Thoroughly weed collection.
- Complete an inventory, matching the shelf list with the collection.
- Obtain a count of the collection.
- Maintain an accurate count by improving tracking of acquisitions and withdrawals.
