IGNITE 2025: Presentation Competition

The AIUB English Club, under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), organized IGNITE, a presentation competition for the students of AIUB. The three daylong presentation competition, commenced with the workshop “Idea to Impact on 19 August 2025 at the Media Studio, Annex 2, AIUB. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shihab Saqib, Assistant Professor, Department of English, and Ms. Shahrina Afrin Siddique, Lecturer, Department of English, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The session focused on expressing ideas with confidence, audience awareness, and effective storytelling. Participants engaged actively with the facilitators to enhance their strategies for presenting innovative and socially relevant ideas.

The Preliminary Round took place on 20 August 2025 at Room 3201, Annex 3, with 58 teams from various departments. Each team had two minutes to present and was judged on Clarity & Impact, Storytelling & Structure, and Delivery & Time Management. The judging panel for the preliminary round included founding members and executives of the AIUB English Club. Based on the scores, eight teams qualified for the Grand Finale.

The Grand Finale was held on 24 August 2025 at the Auditorium, D-Building, AIUB. This round highlighted the creativity, communication skills, and engagement of students with IGNITE’s four themes: Technology & the Future, Creativity & Culture, Personal Growth & Well-being, and Society & Community. The eight finalist teams presented five-minute sessions (three-minute presentation and two-minute Q&A) and were scored on Presentation Delivery, Body Language, Content Organization, Time Management, Visual Aids, and Q&A Performance the finale concluded with a cultural segment, including music and dance, creating a lively conclusion.

The event was graced by distinguished guest Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor and Director of Office of Student Affairs. Dr. Tanbir Ibne Anowar, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Afroja Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Media and Mass Communication, Shahrina Afrin Siddique, Lecturer, Department of English, AIUB; adjudicated the competition.

The Champion team, Team Wizards, presented on the topic “AI is My Best Friend”, which stood out as both unique and deeply relatable to the Gen Z generation. Team 911 and Team Joykoly secured the first and second runners up positions respectively.
