Enhancing Daylighting in Underground Spaces in Dhaka Using Skylights and Light Tubes

This research paper aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using skylights and light tubes to improve natural daylighting in the underground spaces of commercial buildings in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The research will use parametric design tools, specifically Honeybee and Ladybug for Rhino Grasshopper, to meticulously optimize the placement and design of skylights and light tubes to maximize natural light infusion. The research findings will be helpful to architects, urban planners, and building designers in Dhaka, allowing for the seamless integration of skylights and light tubes into underground structures for more sustainable and occupant-friendly spaces.
