Professor Dr. Taslima Monsoor, Advisor of the Department of Law at American International University-Bangladesh represented the university at the prestigious 2026 Global Law Deans’ Forum organized by the International Association of Law Schools (IALS) and hosted by the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in Windsor on May 4-5, 2026.
The forum brought together law deans, senior academics, legal scholars, and institutional leaders from around the world to discuss contemporary challenges and transformative strategies in legal education. The event served as an important international platform for exchanging ideas on curriculum reform, institutional leadership, technological adaptation, global legal competency, and the future direction of law schools in an increasingly interconnected world.
Representing AIUB as Professor and Advisor to the Department of Law, Professor Dr. Taslima Monsoor actively participated in the academic discussions and collaborative sessions throughout the forum. On May 5, 2026, she delivered a speech in Session #5 on the topic “Strategic Priorities and Leadership Decisions for Modernizing Legal Education.” In her presentation, she highlighted the evolving demands of legal education in the Global South and emphasized the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary learning, research excellence, ethical legal training, and digital transformation in preparing future legal professionals.
Professor Monsoor also discussed the experiences and initiatives of AIUB in adapting legal education to contemporary global realities. She underscored the need for law schools to balance academic rigor with practical legal skills, while fostering inclusivity, sustainability, and international collaboration. Her remarks reflected Bangladesh’s growing engagement in global legal academic discourse and demonstrated AIUB’s commitment to maintaining international standards in legal education.
The forum provided an excellent opportunity for networking and academic exchange with representatives from leading law schools and international legal institutions. Through participation in the discussions and sessions, Professor Monsoor explored potential avenues for future collaboration, research partnerships, faculty exchange, and institutional cooperation that may contribute to the continued development of legal education at AIUB.
