The AIUB Law & Mooting Society (ALMS) successfully organized an academic session titled “Beginner’s Guide to Mooting: Mastering Research, Memorials, and Orals” on 19 May 2026 at Media Studio Annex-2, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB).

The program was arranged with the objective of introducing students to the essential foundations of moot court competitions and strengthening their practical understanding of legal research, memorial drafting, and oral advocacy. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the Department of Law, who actively engaged in discussions and gained valuable insights into the practical dimensions of mooting.

The program began with a warm welcome speech delivered by the respected Mentor of the AIUB Law & Mooting Society, Barrister Fahim Faisal Khan Alabi, whose inspiring words encouraged the participants to develop their advocacy skills with discipline, dedication, and confidence. The session was conducted by Md. Muhtasim Faiaz, Lecturer, Department of Law, AIUB, and Md. Jahedul Islam, Lecturer, Department of Law, AIUB. They discussed the core components of mooting, including mastering research, preparing effective memorials, and presenting oral submissions before a moot court bench. Throughout the session, the speakers shared practical guidance on legal research techniques, issue identification, memorial structure, citation discipline, courtroom manner, argument presentation, and responding to judicial questions. Their discussions provided the participants with a clearer understanding of the preparation, professionalism, and analytical skills required for successful participation in moot court competitions.

The Mentor of the AIUB Law & Mooting Society expressed its sincere gratitude to Md. Muhtasim Faiaz and Md.
