CALL for Participation
Dear Students, AIUB CS FEST 2016 will be held from 22 November, 2016 to 24 November, 2016. There are lot of events where you can participate and show your talent. The events are open for all current AIUB students from all departments. The event lists, details, rules and regulations, time and venue are listed below as well as the points of contact.

3. POSTER/ CONCEPT PRESENTATION

Areas of Interest:
- Any published or yet to be published scientific paper directly related to Computer Science.
- Any ideas on any field of computer science that are not yet put into writings.
- Humorous concepts portraying any event of AIUB but which must not defame any Faculty/Staff of AIUB.
- Any sprouting social issues without bias to any political/religious views that can be solved using any method of Computer Science.
Rules & Regulations:
- Each poster must contain a title of the poster, name & id of each group members.
- Maximum of 4 members in a group.
- All contents of the poster should be original. Content that is copyright to someone else should not be in your poster.
- Poster’s design and content should strongly represent the information that the designers want to convey to the viewers.
- Any content of the poster should not negatively criticize any social issue or any person.

8. INTERDEPARTMENTAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION
Venue: AIUB CAMPUS 4
Date: 23 November, 2016
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Rules & Regulations:
Junior Level:
- Students completing Math 1 and Math 2 courses can apply.
- Each participant will be participating in this event individually.
- Contest Duration: 1 hour.
- Contest Syllabus: Set theory, permutation, combination, plane geometry, Calculus (extrema, area, volume, plane and straight line and rotation of axes) and their applications, geometry.
Exam syllabus: Elementary algebra, set theory and their real life applications, permutation, combination, plane geometry, Calculus (extrema, area, volume, plane and straight line and rotation of axes) and their applications.
Senior Level:
- Students completing all the Math courses, including Statistics and Probability can apply.
- Each participant will be participating in this event individually.
- Contest Duration: 1 hour
- Contest Syllabus: Calculus (extrema, area, volume, plane geometry, plane and straight line and rotation) ordinary differential equations, matrices, curve fitting, method of least square, Fourier analysis, Probability, interpolation, numerical integration.)
Exam syllabus: Calculus (extrema, area, volume, plane geometry, plane and straight line and rotation) ordinary differential equations and their applications to solve engineering and scientific problems , system of linear equations and their application to solve network problems, curve fitting by method of least square, Fourier analysis, transform and their application, Z- transform and their application to solve recurrence relations, Probability and probability distribution, interpolation by divided difference, numerical solution of boundary value problems, integration.
