Workshop on "Weka: Data Mining with Open Source Software"
Data Mining (Often known as Knowledge Discovery) is a potential field of Computer Science where the main aim is to extract some patterns from the historical data and to gain some previously unknown potential knowledge after analyzing these patterns. Data mining applications include but not limited to credit card fraud detection, electric load prediction, financial forecasting, product design, real estate valuation, weather forecasting, market basket analysis, performance monitoring, implementation of intrusion detection system etc.
Weka is an open source & widely used tool for Data mining. Department of Computer Science, AIUB has organized a workshop on Weka on February 03, 2011. The workshop was conducted by Masuqur Rahman, Software Engineer & a former student of Computer Science, AIUB. The event started by the welcome notes from Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science, AIUB and ends with a presentation session conducted by Mr. Saiedur Rahaman, Assistant Professor & Special Assistant, Department of Computer Science, AIUB. We would like to thank all participants of the workshop. Special thanks to Mr. Saidur Rahman, Mr. Hafizur Rahman & Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Lecturer Department of Computer Science, AIUB for their continuous support to make this event successful.
