Implemented by University Grants Commission (UGC) as part of Higher Education and Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) – funded by Government of Bangladesh and The World Bank, Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is currently undergoing Self-Assessment process since 2015. As part of the final stage of this process, an Improvement Plan till 2019 was presented at a Workshop in presence of representatives from the stake holders (students, alumni, employers, academic & non-academic staff) on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Department of Architecture, AIUB.

The workshop was embellished by the presence of Dr. Charles C. Villanueva (Pro Vice-Chancellor & Director, AIUB-IQAC), Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Ms. Farheen Hassan (Additional Director, AIUB-IQAC), Dr. ABM Rahmatullah (Additional Director, AIUB-IQAC), M. Arefeen Ibrahim (Head, Department of Architecture, Head Self Assessment Committee (SAC), Ashik Vaskor and Ashik Ikbal (Member SAC) among others.

Mr. Ibrahim inaugurated the session. Dean of Engineering Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain explained about the contemporary teaching methodologies and the possible outcome. IQAC presented the journey of Quality Assurance process undertaken. Dr. Charles’ speech added new ideas for research; fund and research-methodology. The workshop was concluded by Mr. Arefeen Ibrahim with a detailed presentation on Improvement Plan for B.Arch Program. This was followed by a brief question answer session participated by all.
