On 20^th April 2023, the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society AIUB SB Chapter, in collaboration with the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, organized an online workshop titled "Microwave Antenna Design and Simulation". This workshop began at 02:00 pm with more than 100 attendees. The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of microwave antenna design and its simulation.

Advisor of IEEE AIUB Student Branch, Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, (Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) inaugurated the program. He showed his appreciation towards the instructor, organizer, and participants of the online workshop. He then discussed the future perspective of designing antennas. After the inauguration, Student Activity Coordinator of IEEE Bangladesh Section Executive Committee 2023, Dr. M. Tanseer Ali, (Associate Professor, Special Assistant, Capstone Project, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) started his session. He initially demonstrated the CST Studio Suite's installation procedure and briefly explained its usage. Then, he explained the calculations required for designing an antenna. He also covered the transmission line theory, the significance of frequency, wavelength, reflection coordinates, the three transverse waves, and the dipole moment calculation. Afterwards, he designed and simulated a dipole microwave antenna. A Q&A session was held, where he demonstrated S-parameter, Y-matrix, Z-matrix, electric field, return loss, and parameter sweep. Following the Q&A session, Counselor of IEEE AIUB Student Branch, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, (Advisor, IEEE EMBS AIUB SB Chapter, Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), provided closing remarks and a virtual token of appreciation to the speaker.
