On Monday, July 13, 2026, the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, in collaboration with the IEEE Engineering In Medicine and Biology Society AIUB Chapter and the IEEE AIUB Student Branch WIE Affinity Group, successfully organized a webinar titled “Technology for Society: Advancing Global Health Through Responsible Innovation” via Google Meet. The webinar aimed to highlight the importance of responsible technological innovation and its impact on advancing global healthcare and improving society.

The program commenced with the inaugural speech by Dr. M. Tanseer Ali, Associate Professor and Head (Graduate Program), Department of EEE, FE, AIUB. He thanked the IEEE AIUB Student Branch and its collaborating affinity groups for organizing such an event and emphasized the importance of responsible innovation and global collaboration in addressing healthcare challenges. He then invited the distinguished speaker of the session, Dr. M Belal Hossain, Assistant Professor, Hartwick College, New York, USA. The speaker began by introducing himself and sharing his academic and professional background. During the webinar, he discussed the role of responsible innovation in advancing global health through emerging technologies. He highlighted the importance of biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, digital health and ethical technology development in solving real world healthcare challenges. He also shared practical insights from his research and encouraged students to pursue impactful research that contributes to society.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session where the speaker addressed various queries from enthusiastic participants.

Following the Q&A session, Dr. Ali, delivered the closing remarks by expressing his sincere gratitude to the speaker for the insightful session and to the IEEE AIUB Student Branch for successfully organizing the webinar. He then presented a virtual token of appreciation to the speaker in recognition of his valuable contribution.

The event started at 08:00 PM (GMT+6) and concluded at 9:30 PM (GMT+6). A total of 100+ participants attended the workshop.
