On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, in collaboration with the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) AIUB Student Branch Chapter, successfully organized a webinar titled “RF and Radar Systems: From Power Amplifiers to Phased Arrays - Industry Trends and Career Opportunities.” The session aimed to provide participants with valuable insights into RF and microwave engineering and radar technologies.

The webinar was inaugurated by Dr. Gour Chand Mazumder, Assistant Professor, FE, AIUB and Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch who highlighted the importance of bridging academic knowledge with practical industry applications. Following his remarks, Dr. Venkata Kishore Kothapudi, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, VFSTR, India commenced his session by introducing the participants with his extensive academic and industrial experience in the field of RF engineering. He discussed the fundamentals and practical applications of RF and microwave engineering, exploring their significance across diverse technological domains. His presentation covered the distinction between RF and microwave frequencies, IEEE standard frequency bands along with several other topics. The discussion also featured a roadmap to the RF and Radar industry for students who are willing to build a career in that field.

The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session where the speaker addressed various queries from enthusiastic participants.

Following the Q&A session, Dr. M. Tanseer Ali, Associate Professor, Head [Graduate Program], Department of EEE, FE, AIUB, delivered the closing remarks by sharing his own expertise about RF technologies. Afterwards, Dr. Mazumder and Dr. Ali presented a token of appreciation to the speaker in recognition of his valuable contribution.
