Webinar on "Higher Study in Australia: Research in Biomedical Engineering”

Faculty of Engineering (FE) organized a webinar titled “Higher Study in Australia: Research in Biomedical Engineering” through online platform Zoom at 06:00 PM on November 15, 2021, Monday. The Guest Speaker of the session was Mr Md Mahmudul Hasan, Ph.D. Scholar, The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. The event was initiated by Mr Nafiz Ahmed Chisty, SMIEEE, Associate Professor & Head In-Charge (UG), Department of EEE, Faculty of Engineering and hosted by Ms. Tahmida Islam, Lecturer, Department of CoE, Faculty of Engineering. The event was commenced by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean, Department of EEE, Faculty of Engineering where he discussed the wide scope in biomedical engineering research sectors.  Then, the speaker for the event Mr. Hasan started his talk by explaining the steps and requirements of the application process for higher study in Australia. Then he illustrated with examples of some common mistakes most applicants do while applying for higher studies along with ways to eradicate those mistakes. The speaker showed some examples of ways to approach professors with similar research interests and also frequently asked questions during interviews by professors. The speaker spoke about his personal challenges while studying abroad and how he overcame those to focus on his current research based on Biomedical Image Processing. His research includes merging various signals from heart, eye and brain in the field of biomedical signal processing applications for different physical diagnosis. Then the speaker concluded showing illustrations of recent advancements in the same field of research. The participants also asked him about future scopes of his research. At the end, Mr Nafiz provided the closing remarks and ended the webinar.
