A webinar on Writing and Publishing in Applied Linguistics and TESOL: Focusing on SCOPUS/ Web of Science Indexed Journals was organized by the Department of English, AIUB on 6^th June at 4 pm on Zoom where the key presenter was Mohammad Mosiur Rahman, a PhD fellow at University Sains Malaysia and an alumnus of Department of English, AIUB. Mr. Mosiur discussed some potential ways of getting access to SCOPUS journals to find relevant literature for research papers. He recommended academic research works to be converted to research paper and books according to the depth and level of the research contents. He discussed some tricks of searching cited references on research topics easily and using them safely in a research paper without causing any controversy and hence being accepted in world class journals. He mentioned some of the top journals that the students and faculties of the department may target for publishing their articles in. From the webinar, the audience also learnt about identifying journals with relevant scope. It was a long discussion with myriad pinpoints on research work and publishing opportunities for the tertiary level teachers. In a way, it was a very effective pathway for the aspiring research article writers among the faculties of the Department of English at AIUB. The Associate Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. ABM Rahmatullah and the Head of the Department of English, Mr. M Hamidul Haque were present along with the teachers and students among the audience. The coordinator of the “Seminar, Workshop and Outreach” sub-committee and Associate Professor of English Department, Mr. Asif Kamal organized and moderated the webinar.
