Visit to Deshbandhu Sugar Mills Ltd., Charsindur, Palash, Narsingdi

The Department of Operations Management of the Faculty of Business Administration organized a visit on 14th October 2010, for its students to Deshbandhu Sugar Mills Ltd., Charsindur, Palash, Narsingdi. The visit aimed to observe the production operations in the industry sector as a relevant and enrichment activity of the business education particularly curriculum of the Operations Management Curriculum. Students observed very closely the production planning procedure, inventory system, supply chain, production operation, quality control and assurance, environment control, energy and industrial resources optimization. In addition, they observed the process of transforming the input to higher value added products. The management of the beverage company briefed the students and actively interacted with the officers who were giving the orientation. It was a good learning experience for the students to see the actual management operations. The Department of Operations Management would like to convey its profound thanks and appreciation to the management of the Deshbandhu Sugar Mills Ltd.  for providing full support and cooperation  extended in making the visit successful and productive. The students were accompanied on the visit by the faculty members such as Mr. Hasan Maksud Chowdhury, Dr. Anisa Khatun and Mr. Mohammad Ali of the Department of Operations Management.
