Visit to Boishakhi Television by the Department of Media and Mass Communication

Writing script for Media course, a group of 20 students from department of Media and Mass Communication, paid a visit to Boishakhi television on July 12, 2012. The purpose of this visit was to inform and enlighten the students - how to write the script factually, persuasively and effectively, in accordance with industrial standards. It would also help them to distinguish modes of media writing styles between broadcast and print media. Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Editor in Chief of Boishakhi TV, conveyed a speech on editorial policy, various programs and news that highlight the history, culture and ongoing development of Bangladesh. Moreover he added that the nature of journalism on television of this country is being shaped through the interactions between the ruling politicians and the owners of the television channels. The CEO came upon a few questions from the students after his speech. The session was very informative and interactive as well. Then the Chief News Editor, Mr Rahul Raha showed the students the news room, the department of production, the department of program and specifically demonstrated that how every part contributes and works together to run the whole news. Every semester MMC students visit different private TV channels for learning and improving the knowledge on the Electronic Media Bangladesh.
