Visit to Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory, Simultali, Gazipur

The Department of Operations Management of the Faculty of Business Administration AIUB, jointly with the Office of Placement and Alumni (OPA), AIUB organized a visit on 7th April 2011, for its students to Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory at Simultali, Gazipur.
Students observed very closely the managerial activities like production planning procedure, inventory system, supply chain, production operation, quality control and assurance, environment control, energy and industrial resources optimization. In addition, they observed the process of transforming input to higher value added products. The management of the factory briefed the students and the students actively interacted with the officers who were giving the orientation. It was a good learning experience for the students to see the actual management operations.
The department of operations management is giving thanks to the management of the Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory and the management of the University for providing full support and cooperation for the study tour. The students were accompanied on the visit by Faculty Members Mr. Hasan Maksud Chowdhury and Mr. Mohammad Ali of the Department of Operations Management and Lt. Col (Ret.) Golam Moula, Director, Admin.
