The Two-Day First AIUB International Conference on Business and Management 2018 held on 29-30 November was a phenomenal success. The conference was graced by the presence of many national and international keynote speakers, presenters and guests. The conference was arranged in a grand way and it showed the hard work and professionalism of the whole team working to make this event a huge success.

For any event’s success, it is imperative to have sound sponsors behind it and we were lucky to have a generous support of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in this regard. The DSE team comprised of their high officials and officials from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission(BSEC), decided to visit AIUB on November 28, and that’s how the pre-conference activities entitled, “Investors’ Education Program” kicked off to a start. The officials arrived at 10:00 am in the morning and proceeded to the lobby of Annex 1, where the Dean of FBA, Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Director OPA, Mr. Roomee Tareque Moudud, Director MBA Program Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director BBA Program Ms. Farheen Hassan, Department Heads, Faculty members and students welcomed them warmly. They cut the inaugural ribbon and were also given floral bouquets as a gesture of our gratitude of their support. From there onwards, they went to the C building where they had a meeting with the honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna. The guests were really impressed by AIUB’s beautiful campus and also expressed satisfaction on our teaching standards and styles. At 11.00 am, two officials proceeded to two class of undergraduate level to be the guest lecturers. The classes chosen were Financial Institution and Markets, and Global Finance. In the evening, a seminar was also held at the Multipurpose Hall which was moderated by Mr. Roomee Tareque Moudud.

The whole day was a grand success. The endeavor was an initiative of the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA) and the special thanks are due to the Director of OPA, Mr. Roomee Tareque Moudud. Ms. Hafsa Maryam, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Management & HRM and Mr. Hamidul Islam Hamid, Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing facilitated the whole process and its related arrangements. We are very thankful to DSE and BSEC for their continuous support and a stronger and stable partnership in future.
