Urban green spaces play a crucial role in improving air quality, enhancing biodiversity, and mitigating the impacts of climate change. With this vision, the AIUB Environment Club, facilitated by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), organized a two-day tree plantation drive titled “Roots of Tomorrow 2025 – Plant Today, Grow Tomorrow” on September 10–11, 2025, across selected schools and colleges in Dhaka and Gazipur.

The participating institutions included Notre Dame College, Dhaka; Cambrian College; Dhaka Cantonment Public School & College; Assemblies of God Church School; Gazipur Cantonment Public School & College; and Safiuddin Sarkar Academy & College.

Students, teachers, environment and science club members, and volunteer groups from these institutions warmly welcomed the AIUB Environment Club members, actively cooperating in planting saplings and taking part in awareness sessions on the importance of protecting and expanding green spaces.

The drive emphasized native tree species well-suited to the local environment, including Neem (Azadirachta indica), Rain Tree (Albizia saman), Guava (Psidium guajava), Mango (Mangifera indica), and Krishnachura (Delonix regia).
