The Department of Marketing and Tourism & Hospitality Management (THM) under the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a study tour to the 11th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2024 on September 19, 2024. This annual event plays a vital role in promoting the tourism industry across the South Asian region by bringing together tourism buyers and sellers to showcase the latest products and services.
The 11th Asian Tourism Fair 2024, held from September 19 to 21 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, featured nearly 100 tourism organizations, including tourism clubs, tour operators, educational institutions, hotels, airlines, and resorts from countries like Bangladesh, the Maldives, China, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bhutan, and Singapore. Visitors explored various travel offers, special discounts, hotel and resort bookings, and other travel-related services provided by hotels, motels, cruise lines, airlines, tour operators, and theme parks.
The study tour provided valuable insights for students of Tourism and Hospitality Management, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of "Quality Education." This initiative reflects AIUB's commitment to educational excellence and its dedication to nurturing future professionals in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
The event was coordinated by Mr. AKM Kamrul Haque, Senior Associate Professor, Department of Marketing, and Mr. Mahmudul Hasan, Lecturer, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Marketing and THM.
