The VC was in the University of London Institute in Paris (ILIP)
The VC was in the University of London Institute in Paris (ILIP) for a skype interview of the short-listed (7) candidates for the post of Secretary General of the International Association for Universities (IAU) last April 10, 2017.  The members of the Selection Committee are: (1) Pam Fredman, IAU President (2) Stephen Freedman, IAU Board member (3) Carmen Lamagna, IAU Board member with Mr. Tim Gore, CEO ILIP as an advisor to the selection process and committee.  Face-to-face interview with 3 final candidates will take place on May 2017 in ULIP, Paris.
 
A board meeting of the IAU followed (April 11-12, 2017) in IAU office, UNESCO Paris. Discussed were the report on past activities supplementing the information with links that helped the members to find more details about the activities.
 
Several committees were formed:
  1. Membership development
  2. World Higher Education Database (The VC was nominated to chair)
  3. Higher education and research for sustainable development
  4. Internationalization
  5. Information and communication technology
  6. By-laws
 
Meetings of the different committees called for plan of actions f0r the year 2017-2020.
