The Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series unfolded again this Spring Semester, 2008-2009

This program is  being held under the banner of Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series”, This series is in recognition of the pioneering efforts and benevolence of a man who envisioned to establish a university that would cater to the students' quest for world class education, and to contribute to the improvement of the quality and excellence of education in this country. He is our Chairman Dr. Anwarul Abedin. This lecture series is dedicated in his honor.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is about how businesses align their values and behavior with the expectations and needs of stakeholders - not just customers and investors, but also employees, suppliers, communities, regulators, special interest groups and society as a whole. CSR describes a company's commitment to be accountable to its stakeholders. Now to our Honourable guest for today, Mr. Mohiuddin Babar, Head of Communications and CSR Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd.. Earlier he was in teaching for about 14 years as  well as in journalism. Mr. Babar has been regularly attending the Asian CSR forum since 2001 in several Asian cities as an invited speaker. He was a judge for Asian CSR  award in 2007 and 2008. He has also attended the world congress on workplace safety in Korea and China recently. Mr. Babar has also authored a book on CSR.
