The Department of MMC signed MOU with Maasranga television & Independent Newspaper
The
department of Media and Mass Communication, AIUB, Maasranga Television
and Independent Newspaper enters into an agreement on May 29 and
30, 2013 with the view of fostering academic and professional
cooperation. After the brief speeches underscoring the significance of
the event, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Vice Chancellor of American International
University-Bangladesh, Syed Fahim Munaim, chief executive officer and chief editor of Maasranga Television and and Mr. Shahnoor Wahid, Managing Editor of The Independent Newspaper signed the Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of their respective organizations.
The
purpose of this MoU is to develop academic and technical support,
cooperation and to promote mutual understanding between MMC department,
AIUB and Maasranga TV- Independent Newspaper.
The
MMC Department believes in an educational approach that is adapted,
technologically updated and centered on active learning. It upholds
a curriculum that is flexible, relevant and balanced in terms of theory
and practice- a curriculum that is grounded in both global and local
contexts.
The
MOU specified to promote cooperation in the field of student
internships, exchange of academic and resource persons to conduct
training,
workshop for media professionals and student and to promote other
academic and technical cooperation as mutually agreed etc.
Dean, Dr. Tazul Islam, FSS, Ms Farhana Afroz, Head, Department of MMC were present at that time.
