The department of Economics, American International University-Bangladesh organized a program titled “Exchange of Views and Ideas” among the students and the faculty members of the Department of Economics on 07^th April 2016 at Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Building. The program started with a brief introduction of the faculty members and a welcome speech by Mr. Md. Shawkat Ali, Head, Department of Economics. After the welcome speech, Professor Dr. A. N. Neaz Ahmad delivered his valuable speech where he described why Economics is different from other subjects and why people should study economics. All the faculty members of the Department of Economics were present to make the event successful.

Three Alumni of economics department of AIUB who already hold prestigious positions in the field of economics also shared their experiences with the current students.   

Students expressed their views, ideas and experiences which they gathered while they study at AIUB. All the students took part in that session spontaneously. The students raised various aspects for the development of the department, and the Department of Economics plans to scrutinize these suggestions and put into consideration for further development of the department.

Professor Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, finally delivered a motivating speech to the students. He highlighted the importance of working together to become one of the successful departments of AIUB. The program was conducted by Mr. Rezwanul Hasan Rana, a faculty of the department of Economics.

The Department of Economics gratefully acknowledges the support of the AIUB management in making the program a success.
