The 10th Communication and Journalism Educators' Network (CJEN) Conference
The media industry worldwide is undergoing rapid and significant transformation, particularly over the last two decades, primarily driven by digital disruption since the early 2000s and recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). The nature and extent of these changes vary from country to country, making it essential to consider contextual factors such as socio-political, economic, and technological influences when examining the media sector of a specific nation.
This year's CJEN conference aims to explore the multifaceted challenges and opportunities arising from digital disruption, AI, and their associated forces for various stakeholders in the media industry of Bangladesh, including creators, consumers, policymakers, researchers, and students. Through debates and discussions on topics such as industry dynamics, policy, employability, and culture, we seek to foster a better understanding of current changes and future challenges.
In line with this objective, the main theme of this year's conference is "Media Transformed: Bangladesh at a Crossroads." Panels will be organized around the following sub-themes, featuring resource persons from relevant fields:
Social media, Misinformation, Disinformation, and Public Trust |
Social Media Entertainment |
Journalism Ethics in the Age of Viral Content |
The Future of Newsrooms – AI and Automation in Journalism |
