The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), AIUB, organized a creative and competitive event entitled “TVC Production Competition – Fall 2025–26” on January 08, 2026 (Thursday) at the Media Studio on the AIUB campus. The event was arranged for students enrolled in the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) and Agro-based Product Marketing courses under the Marketing specialization of the BBA program. The primary objective of the competition was to mentor and motivate marketing major students to apply their theoretical knowledge of advertising and marketing communications in practical settings.

The students were tasked with creating a television commercial of up to one minute in duration, along with a campaign poster featuring an effective verbal–visual message combination for their selected brand. A total of 50 students, organized into 10 teams, participated in the event. This initiative was designed as a 360-degree student-centric academic project in which participants developed their respective communication content plan, prepared scripts, performed in the TVC production, completed all necessary post-production activities, proposed a media plan, and designed a creative campaign poster. Following a rigorous screening round held on Wednesday, January 07, 2026, the top five teams were selected to present their revised outputs before the judging panel, faculty members, and students during the final round of the competition.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director of Graduate Programs, FBA. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the growing need for new dimensions in TVC-making and emphasized the importance of creative tasks that students must undertake in response to modern marketing orientations. The presentations were thoroughly evaluated by a panel of distinguished academic and corporate judges, including Mr. Soumendra S. Das, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, FBA; Ms. Farzan Mitu, Lecturer, Dept. of Marketing, FBA; and Mr. Anay Das Antu, Senior Manager (Strategy & Planning), Grey Advertising Bangladesh Limited, and an alumnus of the Dept. of Marketing, FBA, AIUB. The judging criteria focused on the strength of the advertisement’s big idea, concept and content design, message structure and clarity of appeal, subject knowledge, and presentation skills, followed by a Q&A session. After the team presentations, Mr. Antu shared his technical and constructive insights about contemporary advertising tools, along with industry design requirements and evolving target customer expectations.

Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-In-Charge, FBA; Prof. Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director, Undergraduate Program, FBA; Prof. Dr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Dept. of OSCM; Mr. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, Head, Dept. of MIS, and other faculty members from FBA were present at the event to observe the students’ presentations. At the closing session, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain shared his valuable guidance on refining the students’ concepts for further professional development. He also inspired the students to engage in more innovative and creative initiatives to explore the marketing domain and enhance their competencies, emphasizing the importance of active participation in productive, hands-on learning activities.

The event was organized and the productions were mentored by Mr. Hamidul Islam Hamid, and Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Associate Professors, Department of Marketing, FBA, and Special Assistants, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB, in coordination with Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, Head, Dept. of Marketing, IB and THM, FBA, AIUB. At the closing ceremony, the winners were announced and awarded Champion, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up trophies along with Certificates of Achievement.
