On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM), under the Faculty of Business Administration at AIUB, successfully hosted a seminar titled “Supply Chain Talk on Future of Supply Chain – Industry Insights and Prospects”. Held at the Media Studio (Annex-2), the event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, aiming to explore the future trend of supply chain and potential challenges ahead.
The seminar welcomed Mr. Maruf Sobhan, Head of Supply Chain at Singer Bangladesh Ltd., as the guest speaker. Drawing from his extensive experience with industry giants like GSK, BAT, and HeidelbergCement Bangladesh, Mr. Sobhan provided valuable insights into practical supply chain management strategies. His session emphasized the strategic importance of supply chain functions in driving organizational success and outlined the key competencies required for aspiring professionals to excel in this field.
The seminar began with an inauguration speech by Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Associate Professor and Director of the BBA Program. Following this, Mr. Sobhan delivered his keynote address, captivating the audience with his deep knowledge and engaging anecdotes. The interactive Q&A session offered students a unique opportunity to pose their questions directly to the speaker, fostering an enriching dialogue on supply chain trends and challenges.
Concluding the event, Dr. Md. Tamzidul Islam, Head of the OSCM Department, delivered the closing speech and presented a crest and gift bag to the honorable guest as a token of appreciation. Md. Zahidul Anam, Lecturer, OSCM was the coordinator and MC of the seminar ensuring the efficient flow of the program. Special thanks were extended to the AIUB Supply Chain students’ wing for their active volunteering efforts. The event provided attendees with a fresh perspective on the sustainable future of supply chain management and its vast career opportunities, leaving them inspired and well-informed.
