On May 14, 2025, the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM), under the Faculty of Business Administration at AIUB, successfully hosted a seminar titled “Supply Chain Talk on Freight Forwarding Fundamentals: Connecting Business to Global Markets”. Held at the Media Studio (Annex-2), the event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, aiming to explore the future trend of freight forwarding industry and potential challenges ahead.
The seminar welcomed Mr. Rahman Mohammed Tanjirur, General Manager at Kuehne + Nagel, as the guest speaker. Drawing from his extensive experience in this field, Mr. Rahman provided valuable insights into the practicality of freight forwarding industry. His session emphasized the strategic importance of logistics functions in driving organizational success and outlined the key competencies required for aspiring professionals to excel in the global scale.
The seminar began with an inauguration speech by Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean in Charge, FBA. Following this, Mr. Rahman delivered his keynote address, captivating the audience with his deep knowledge and engaging anecdotes. The interactive Q&A session offered students a unique opportunity to pose their questions directly to the speaker, fostering an enriching dialogue on logistics trends and challenges.
Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Associate Professor and Director of the BBA Program, presented the concluding remarks. Concluding the event, Dr. Md. Tamzidul Islam, Associate Professor & Head of the OSCM Department, coordinated the entire program and presented the vote of thanks. Ms. Shahnaz Zarin, Assistant Professor, OSCM, FBA, hosted the program. Special thanks were extended to the AIUB Supply Chain students’ wing for their active volunteering efforts. The event provided attendees with a fresh perspective on the sustainable future of logistics management and its vast career opportunities, leaving them inspired and well-informed.
