Department of Architecture has just finished “Design Dialogue - final year thesis jury” [from 17th to 19th May 2016] for the Spring semester 2015-16. A total of 38 students made successful presentation of their final projects. A good number of internal and external jurors critically judged and reviewed the final projects of the students and delivered their valuable comments for each project. It was a final recognition moment for the students for which they have worked day and night to achieve specific outcomes within a semester.

All the faculty members of the Department were present in these 3 days of presentation, along with the students from other semesters in audience and a very good number of respected external jurors. The jury members are well reputed professionals in their own fields of architecture and education. Among many others, the guest jurors included Architect Bashirul Haq (Bashirul Haq & Associates, architect, planner and educator), Architect Saif Ul Haque (Saif Ul Haque Sthapati , architectural theorist and activist), Architect Kazi Khaleed Ashraf (Bengal foundation, architect, urbanist and architectural researcher), Architect Mustapha Khalid Palash (Vistaara Architects), Architect BKS Inan (CAD Ltd), Architect Abul Hasnat Fuad (Architect and Planner PWD), Prof. Md. Ali Naqi (Stamford University Bangladesh), Architect Ahsan Ullah Mazumder ( Associate professor, BUET), Architect Ziaul Islam (Assistant Professor, University of Asia Pacific), Architect Sujaul Islam (Assistant Professor, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology) , Architect Sarah Bashneen (Assistant Professor, Stamford University Bangladesh) – who shared their views on the projects with the students. Their valuable comments on the design projects helped the students to understand the potentials and problems of the projects. The jurors spoke very high about the merit of many of the wonderful projects and motivated the students to keep up the good work which will ensure their success in career. Architecture Department is thankful to the external jurors, participants, students and the university administration for their support and would like to take this opportunity to wish a very bright, prosperous future to the fresh architects from AIUB. 

Constant encouragements & support by the Head of the Department- M. Arefeen Ibrahim, sincere & handful guidance of the studio instructors Ashik Vaskor Mannan, Ajmeri Nusrat Shoma, Md Sariful Islam and the respective project advisors made the wonderful final outcome of these promising projects possible.
