A total forty five students of the Bangladesh Studies and political journalism (department of Law and MMC) course were taken on a study tour to the parliament on June 20, 2019 as part of their course work. The students were advised to acquire practical knowledge on parliament, budget session, political culture and submit a report to their respective course teacher.

On arrival at Parliament house, students were received by Deputy Secretary of Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat who briefed the team on parliament procedures and structures.  After observing the budget session for a while, the students moved to the Conference room to participate in a question-answer session with honorable Member of Parliament, Md Faruk Khan MP (Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of foreign Affairs and former Commerce Minister). Mr Khan said that the Prime minister Sheikh Hasina regularly takes part in the question-answer session in the parliament and answers questions from the opposition as part of her and the government’s accountability to the people. Ms Farhana Afroz, Senior Assistant Professor, department of Social Science accompanied the students.
