The Department of Law, American International University Bangladesh, organized an industrial visit to the Fakir Fashion Limited, Baliapara, Rupgonj, Narayangonj, on Thursday, January 2, 2025. The title of the tour was “Bridging Theory and Practice: A Study Tour”. The tour, which combined classroom instruction with real-world industry exposure, was especially planned for the Labor and Industrial Law course of the LLB program.
The tour began with an initial speech from Respected faculty member Ms Rostoma Begum Chaudhary, Assistant Professor of Law, AIUB as she was the organizer and the course teacher of Labor and Industrial Law. Two other faculty members were also part of the tour, Mr Soeb Aktar (Lecturer of Law, AIUB) and Mr Fahim Faisal Khan Alabi (Lecturer of Law, AIUB).
There were different segments of the tour which included interactive sessions with the students and the concerned departments of the Fakir Fashion Limited. Following the session, the students got the opportunity of field visits to the permanent hospital of the company, day care centre, production establishments and other relevant factories. The tour offered an opportunity to deepen the students’ understanding of Labor and Industrial law from theoretical to practical perspective.
The visit demonstrated to the students how involved industries adhere to and apply pertinent international labor norms, including ILO Conventions and national labor law frameworks for a sustainable world. This study tour showcases AIUB's firm commitment to hands-on, industry-focused learning and its goal of developing a new generation of comprehensive professionals in their relevant fields.
