On 5th August 2017 the Department of Law, AIUB conducted a study tour at Tongi Police Station for completion of an assignment titled “Procedure, stages & involvement of Police in a GR Case”. Later, the students have performed presentation on the study tour for pursuing ‘Dean’s Award’ on August 22, 2017. A group of 36 students with a faculty member of AIUB visited the police station. The team was led by Mr. Md. Khalid Rahman (Faculty Member, Department of Law, AIUB). The team departed from the campus at Kuril at 9:00 a.m. and the tour bus reached the police station around 10:00 a.m.
Students were received with flowers by the Police Officers at the respective Police Station. After the reception, the sessions started. There were two sessions and the sessions were full of enthusiasms. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Md. Rahman and the respective Police officers. At the first session, the Police Officers gave a brief on Policing in Bangladesh, concept of Police Station, Legal terms used in cases etc. After the briefing, the officers asked for enquiries on different legal and practical grounds.
At the second session, the Officer in Charge greeted the students and faculty of AIUB and started his lectures. He basically focused on the GR cases, anticipation of police in collecting evidences, Police Remand etc. These two sessions were lasted for almost two hours. After the sessions, the students had their permission for a tour in the Police Station complex. The tour came to an end with a group photo with all the officers and the participants. It was an important and successful tour for AIUB Law students.
