Students of BSS in Economics Program visited “The Liberation War Museum” and “Bangabandhu Memorial Museum”

On 14th of July, 2018 a study tour was organized for the students from the Department of Economics to visit “The Liberation War Museum”, and “Bangabandhu Memorial Museum”, as a part of the course “Political Economy and Globalization”. The main purpose of the visit was to enlighten students on glorious history of Bangladesh and how economy had played a crucial role in different political movement during liberation war what they have learnt from class lecture. The tour was divided into two parts.
On the first part, the students walked around four galleries of The Liberation War Museum which showcase history, photographs and artifacts related to the War of Independence. After that students watched a documentary and based on the documentary a quiz competition was organized by museum authority. This was followed by a brief prize distribution session where two of our student received prize.
On the second part, students visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum. The students had the opportunity to observe different rare photographs of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life and works as well as various   objects used by him and his family members during the last days of his life in the house. The whole house bears witness to the frightful incident of 15 August 1975.
