In modern era Operations Management has gained a significant place in the business world. Organizations are focusing on proper management of their resources to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency level. Government has also realized the importance of operations management and declared 2nd October as the “Productivity Day” in Bangladesh. To introduce the basics of operations management to our students a student seminar on “Operations Management” was organized by the Operations Management Club under the supervision of Mr. Zobair Shibli and Mr. Ashfaque A. Mohib. The seminar was held on April 19, 2012 at the auditorium of campus 1.
Three different groups of OM major student presented on the core fields of operations management. The audience gathered a brief knowledge about Supply Chain Management, Simulation & Waiting Line and Inventory Management. One group became the best among the three groups by the audience pole. The group consisted of Mr. Md. Ishtiaque Hossain, Mr. Md. Saiham Siddiquee, and Mr. Zinan Bin Taher. Honorable faculty members were present in the seminar to encourage the participants. Honorable Dean of Faculty of Business Administration Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva delivered the concluding speech and handed over the certificates on April 28, 2012
