The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) Research Cell of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) continued its research proposal presentation series with the second session held on Thursday, 21 August 2025. The initiative, designed to cultivate a vibrant research environment within the faculty, provides a platform where faculty members can present, refine, and strengthen their scholarly work through constructive dialogue. This session reflected the growing momentum of the series, bringing together colleagues from across departments in an engaging and intellectually stimulating exchange.
The presentation was delivered by Dr. Sahin Akter Sarker, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing. Her proposal examined an issue of both social and economic relevance, focusing on the factors that influence personal decision-making and everyday practices within disadvantaged communities. The study sheds light on critical aspects such as affordability, awareness, and cultural perceptions, offering insights that extend beyond consumer behavior to broader themes of social inclusion and human well-being.
The Honourable Dean of FBA, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, graced the session and shared his reflections on the initiative. He praised the Research Cell for arranging such programs, noting that regular academic exchanges of this nature are vital for the professional growth and development of faculty members. Prof. Hossain highlighted that these sessions create a valuable space for critical discussion, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship, which ultimately strengthen the research capacity of the faculty as a whole. He also commended Dr. Sahin for her dedication and thoughtful presentation, acknowledging the relevance and quality of her work. In his remarks, Prof. Hossain emphasized that fostering a culture of research and collaboration is central to the mission of FBA and he assured continued support for initiatives that contribute to academic excellence. His active involvement in the session’s context addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on SDG-4 (Quality Education).
Professor Dr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Member of the Research & Publication Steering Committee, department heads, and various faculty members actively contributed to the session by sharing insightful comments and practical suggestions to enhance the research proposal. Their engagement demonstrated a strong interest in the topic while fostering a spirit of collaboration and collective learning within the faculty. The discussion provided the presenter with valuable perspectives and guidance to further refine her study.
