The world of business, today, demands holistic learning that integrates theoretical frameworks into practical applications in order to not just ingrain the knowledge but develop the skills and instill the attitude. And the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB), has been relentlessly working on doing just that. As a part of the course curriculum to engage students in enriching their understanding of the core concepts of marketing, the Department of Marketing initiated a Marketing Plan Competition for all the students of the course, “Principles of Marketing”, for the Spring 2022-23 semester. A grooming session was organized as an induction to the competition, highlighting the focal points of industry analysis, marketing mix, and strategic recommendations for established consumer products in Bangladesh. On the 22nd of March 2023, the students from the participation sections were briefed, guided, and motivated by Sajid Mahbub, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Editor at Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) and Nafees-Ur-Rahman, the Senior Vice President (Operations) at Truck Lagbe, both of whom are not just highly established in their respective fields but also valued alumni of FBA. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, the Director of the Graduate Programs at FBA, inaugurated the session with the opening remarks, emphasizing on the importance of utilizing the opportunity to improve the students’ competencies in comprehending the marketing landscape. Enlightened by their corporate experiences, the guest speakers interacted with the proactive students on their queries and ideas. The course instructors, Dr. Khondaker Sazzadul Karim, Dr. Yesmin Sultana, Dr. Sahin Akter Sarker, Hamidul Islam Hamid, Mahudul Hasan, Shama Islam, along with various other faculty members, department heads, and program directors attended the session. Dr. Alam concluded the session with a vote of thanks for the guest speakers and alumni, presenting them with Certificates and Tokens of Appreciation for their valuable contribution towards enhancing the students’ overall learning experience. Everyone wished the students the best of luck for the upcoming competition, looking forward to their insightful presentations as the future marketers of business in the 21st Century.
