The Westin Dhaka and AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY-BANGLADESH (AIUB) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement on 6 March, 2013 at 10:00 am held in the auditorium of the university with the view to foster academic & professional Co-operation. On the same day Starwood celebrated ‘Asia Pacific Recruitment Day’2013 at AIUB on premises. On this occasion, General Manager of The Westin Dhaka Mr Azeem Shah delivered the welcome address. The Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh Prof. Dr Charles C. Villanueva and Mr. R. Tareque Moudud, Director, office of Placement & Alumni (OPA) also spoke on the occasion. From The Westin Dhaka, Mr. Aftab Ansari, Executive Assistant Manager –Finance and Mr. Abdulla al- Mamun, Room Division Manager spoke their versatile work experience and motivated our students to work inTourism Industry. After the brief speeches underscoring the significance of the event, Prof. Dr Charles C. Villanueva, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh and Mr. Azeem Shah, General Manager of The Westin Dhaka signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on behalf of their respective organizations. Mr. Golam Mostofa, Faculty, Department Of Marketing-(Tourism And Hospitality Management), AIUB and Mr. Arman Al –Huda, Manager- HR & Training, The Westin Dhaka coordinate the daylong Event.
The MOA specified mutual benefits and interests for the employees of The Westin Dhaka willing to pursue MBA and EMBA degree at American International University-Bangladesh and also specified the benefits for the students of American International University-Bangladesh regarding internship, par timejob, job placement, and assistance for academic research. The mutual sharing of expertise and resources in the pursuit for development and enrichment of services of the two organizations are emphasized in the agreement.
The top management of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) including the Associate Dean, Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury, FBA, Mr. Zobair Shibli, Head, Department of Marketing, Mr. Dulal Mia, Head, Department of Finance, Mr. Zakaria Masud, Head, Department of Accounting and other faculties were present at that time.
On the other hand, The Westin Dhaka is represented by Mr Azeem Shah, General Manager, along with Mr. Mostafa Noor-E-Safa, Head of Marketing; Mr. Francis Gomes Assistant Financial Controller; Mr. Md.
