On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the AIUB Business Club (ABC), with the support of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB, successfully organized its career-focused flagship initiative, NESCONNECT (Session 1), presented by Nestlé, at the Multipurpose Hall, D-Building, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The event was hosted by Mr. Sheikh Zidan and Ms. Suraiya Hussain, whose engaging presence kept the energy high throughout the session. Designed to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate landscape, the event drew a packed audience of students eager to gain real-world industry perspectives and corporate career guidance.

The session featured three guest speakers from Nestlé Bangladesh PLC:

  • Mr. Md. Tajdiqul Islam – Manager, Business Excellence & Project
  • ​Mr. S.M. Samir Asaf Chowdhury – MIS Manager, Sales Operation
  • ​Ms. Nuwaira Showkin – Senior HR Officer, Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding​

The speakers shared their professional journeys, practical operational insights, and invaluable strategies to help students confidently navigate the corporate world.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge, FBA; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director, Graduate Program (MBA and EMBA); Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, Director-in-Charge, BBA Program, and Head, Department of Marketing; Dr. Ziarat H. Khan, Associate Professor, and Deputy Director, Student Service and Welfare (SSW), Mr. Soumendra Sankar Das, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, and Mentor, AIUB Business Club,  Mr. Hamidul Islam, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, and Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs; Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs, and Mentor, AIUB Business Club,  Dr. Mohammad Ali, Senior Assistant Professor, Dept. of Management; and Ms. Nabila Wahid, Lecturer, Dept. of Finance.

Adding to the excitement, Nestlé hosted an interactive quiz session during the event to test the students' engagement and quick thinking. The top three performers were rewarded with special gifts from Nestlé. Furthermore, to keep the energy high and the audience refreshed, Nestlé generously provided unlimited iced coffee and tea to all attendees throughout the entire session.

In the final segment of the event, Mr. Soumendra Sankar Das and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam delivered closing speeches on behalf of the AIUB Business Club (ABC) and AIUB, respectively, and inspired the students to become market-fit and to take on the challenges of the corporate world. They highlighted the critical importance of industry-academia collaboration, emphasizing that platforms like NESCONNECT equip students with the practical knowledge and corporate grooming needed to excel in today's competitive job market.

The interactive event concluded with an engaging Question-and-Answer session, followed by a token of appreciation presented to the corporate guests and faculty members. Thanks to the smooth coordination of the hosts, the immense turnout, lively activations, and vibrant student engagement. The success of the seminar is a testament to ABC's commitment to making all faculties corporate-ready and building sustainable careers, truly upholding its motto of “Leadership Beyond Practice.”
