The Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA) of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a seminar titled “Reimagining Employability: Skills for Industry 4.0” on Wednesday, 24th June, 2026, specially arranged for the students of the Faculty of Science & Technology (FST). The session was supported by the AIUB Computer Club (ACC) and featured industry experts from Apex DMIT Limited.
The seminar aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the evolving landscape of Industry 4.0, focusing on future-ready skills, career preparedness, and the changing expectations of the technology-driven workplace. More than 100 students participated in the session and engaged with the speakers on emerging industry trends and career opportunities.
The session featured discussions from both HR and technical perspectives.
Ismat Jahan, Chief People Officer, Apex DMIT Limited, discussed industry expectations, employability skills, mindset development, and how graduates can better prepare themselves for successful careers.
Mohammad Faruk, Head of Project Management, Software Development, Apex DMIT Limited, shared insights on the impact of AI on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), the changing role of software professionals, and the technical skills required for future careers.
The session also included an inspiring address from Mr. R. Tareque Moudud FCMA, Director of the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), who shared valuable words with the students and emphasized the importance of industry exposure, skill development, and preparing themselves for the evolving professional world.
The interactive session helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by highlighting the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and innovation in the era of Industry 4.0.
The seminar concluded with a token of appreciation presented to the speakers by the Director of the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), AIUB, acknowledging their valuable contribution and support in sharing industry knowledge with AIUB students.
Through such industry-academia initiatives, OPA continues to create meaningful opportunities for students to connect with industry leaders and enhance their professional readiness.
