A seminar titled "Women in the banking sector breaking the glass ceiling" was organized by the Department of Accounting on the 18th, August 2016 in Building 5 of American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB). The main objective of this seminar was to address the challenges that women often encounter as they aim to achieve top level positions in the banking sector and some practical suggestions on how to overcome such barriers. The seminar was arranged by Ms. Faieza Chowdhury, Lecturer, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration. The key speaker was Ms. Jahanara Begum, Vice President and Manager, One Bank Ltd. Ms. Jahanara Begum has acquired more than 30 years of work experience in the banking sector and she has shared some of her invaluable experiences with the students. Moreover, she has encouraged all the female students to aim high and to never stop chasing their dreams. The seminar was informative, inspiring and interactive with a special question and answer session held later between the audience and the guest speaker.

At the end of the seminar, Mr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Head, Department of Accounting and Finance, expressed his vote of thanks to the guest speaker and presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a gift pack as a Token of Gratitude.
